Brian Oten

Brian Oten is an experienced legal professional currently serving as the Director for Ethics and Special Programs at the North Carolina State Bar since October 2007, where responsibilities include Ethics Counsel and executive directorships for the Board of Legal Specialization and the Board of Paralegal Certification. Prior to this role, Brian served as Deputy Counsel at Campbell University School of Law from August 2011 to December 2021 and held adjunct professor positions at both the University of North Carolina School of Law and Campbell University School of Law. Additional legal experience includes law clerk positions at the United States District Court for the Western District of North Carolina and the Supreme Court of North Carolina. Brian Oten holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, complemented by studies in Journalism and Broadcasting at Western Illinois University.
