Sonia Murphy

Sonia Murphy has a robust career in university advancement and fundraising, currently serving as Associate Vice Chancellor for University Development at North Carolina State University from February 2017 to March 2025. In this role, Sonia advances the university's mission by setting strategic goals and fostering relationships with donors, alumni, and industry partners. Previous positions include Assistant Dean for CALS Advancement and President of the NC Agricultural Foundation, where Sonia oversaw operations and ensured the achievement of advancement goals. Additionally, Sonia has experience as an Associate Director of Planned Giving at The Salvation Army, a Financial Advisor at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, and a Professional Golfer on the Futures Tour. Sonia holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Wake Forest University.
