North Carolina Symphony
Erica Shirts is a seasoned violinist and educator with extensive experience in various esteemed organizations. Currently serving as the Director of the Duke University String School since August 2015, Erica also holds a position as a Substitute Violinist for the North Carolina Symphony and operates a private violin studio. Previous roles include Associate Concertmaster of the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra and Violin Director at KidZNotes. Erica's experience also encompasses teaching at the Indiana University String Academy and performing as a First Violinist with the Lansing Symphony Orchestra. Erica earned a Performer Diploma and a Master's in Music from Indiana University Bloomington, following a Bachelor of Music from the University of Michigan.

The North Carolina Symphony is a full-time, professional orchestra with its home in Raleigh, North Carolina's spectacular Meymandi Concert Hall. The symphony performs about 175 concerts a year in the Triangle and greater North Carolina.
