Savannah Richards is a dedicated educator with extensive experience in various teaching roles. Currently serving as a STEAM Teacher at Envision Science Academy since July 2024, Savannah has been an OCS American History Teacher at North Carolina Virtual Public School since September 2013. Prior experience includes a significant tenure at Franklin County Schools from March 2008 to July 2024, where Savannah held positions such as Digital Literacy Facilitator and Instructional Technology Facilitator, contributing to the development of engaging STEM and STEAM activities and professional development initiatives. Savannah has also worked as an Online Instructor and Instructional Designer for the Duke University Talent Identification Program and held the position of Northern Project Manager at the National Training Network. Savannah's educational background includes a Master's degree in Digital Learning and Teaching from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor's degree in History and Secondary Education from Appalachian State University.

NC Virtual provides students with expanded academic options by offering online courses (AP, Honors, World Languages, etc.), online services such as test preparation, career planning services, credit recovery, and online college courses to North Carolina students. By virtue of our online course delivery, students from all areas of our state will now have access to courses and highly qualified teachers in subjects that they may not have available at their local schools.
