Streamside Keeper at North Carolina Zoo

Allison Johnson possesses extensive experience in animal care and education, currently serving as a Streamside Keeper at North Carolina Zoo since November 2019. Previously, Allison held several roles at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, including Assistant Curator of Fish and Invertebrates, Outreach Educator, and Live Animal Teaching Collection Technician. These positions involved daily care for diverse aquatic and terrestrial species, maintenance of life support systems, and engagement in educational outreach programs for students. Allison holds a Bachelor's degree in Zoology/Animal Biology from North Carolina State University and has contributed significantly to conservation efforts and animal welfare throughout a dedicated career in the field.
