Deborah Myers is an experienced animal care professional with a background in elephant keeping and veterinary assistance. Currently serving as an Elephant Keeper at North Carolina Zoo since June 2018, Deborah has previously worked as a Relief Keeper for elephants at Utah's Hogle Zoo and held multiple seasonal and full-time roles at various zoological institutions, including the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium and Lee Richardson Zoo. Deborah's expertise includes animal handling, diet preparation, maintenance, and observing training sessions, underpinned by a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Sciences from The Ohio State University. With a diverse skill set in both zoo environments and veterinary settings, Deborah has contributed significantly to the care and management of various species.
