Arnold Van Lingen, IAAI-CFI, NAFI-CFEI, serves as Deputy Fire Marshal for North County Fire Protection District since August 2022. Prior to this role, Arnold had a distinguished career with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office, contributing significantly to over 500 investigations during tenure from 2010 to 2022, particularly in the Bomb Arson Unit where investigations included cases of accidental to incendiary fires. Arnold’s earlier experience in law enforcement involved work in the Major Crimes Division focusing on juvenile offenses, as well as multiple roles in patrol and corrections. Arnold's educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice/Police Science from California State University, Long Beach, and Associate degrees in Fire Technology and Administration of Justice from Palomar College and Pasadena City College, respectively.
