Marie Russell, MD, MPH, FACP

Marie Russell, MD, MPH, FACP has a diverse and extensive work experience. Marie currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer/Chief Operating Officer at TrueCare, a position they have held since May 2020. Prior to this, Dr. Russell was the Chief Medical Officer for the Indian Health Service in the Phoenix Area from April 2017 to May 2020. In this role, they led and managed healthcare delivery programs and set policies for medical practice within the area, overseeing a large staff of over 2,000 employees.

Before their tenure with the Indian Health Service, Dr. Russell worked as the Regional Health Administrator for Region 8 at the Office of Assistant Secretary for Health, Department of Health and Human Services from October 2016 to April 2017.

Dr. Russell's career with the Indian Health Service began in 2002. During their time there, they held various positions including Deputy Chief Medical Officer from July 2012 to October 2016, Associate Director of Centers of Excellence from September 2007 to July 2012, Clinical Director from June 2011 to June 2012, Director of Research from January 2004 to September 2007, and Chief of Medicine from June 2002 to January 2004.

Marie Russell, MD, MPH, FACP has an extensive education history. Marie obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and Affairs from William & Mary in 1990. Following this, they attended the Uniformed Services University from 1994 to 1998, where they earned their MD degree in Medicine. In 2007, they pursued their interest in Public Health and completed a Master of Public Health degree at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where they focused on Public Health.

In addition to their academic achievements, Marie Russell is also a board-certified Internal Medicine specialist. Marie obtained their certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine in December 2011.
