Kristina T. Turner, PMP, is an experienced Program Manager specializing in Rail Technologies at North County Transit District since February 2020. Previously, Kristina held the position of Project Manager at Herzog from May 2017 to January 2020, leading the commissioning phase of a passenger train braking interlock system under Positive Train Control. Prior experience includes serving as Safety Systems Engineer and Project Manager at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory from April 2000 to June 2016, where Kristina managed safety system interlock projects and contributed to the $1 billion LCLS-II Accelerator Facility. Early career roles at SLAC also included Science and Engineering Associate, Operations Engineer, and Accelerator Operator. Kristina holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Harvey Mudd College (1995-1999) and has completed USPAS courses.

North County Transit District is the primary public transportation system in North San Diego County. Every year, millions of passengers ride our COASTER commuter trains, SPRINTER hybrid rail trains, BREEZE buses, FLEX and LIFT paratransit. In recent years, we added new COASTER locomotives that have a 90% emission reduction compared to other locomotives and 64% more horsepower. Since FY19, we have also added 70 new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses to the BREEZE fleet.
