John James

John James possesses extensive experience in the fire protection and building inspection sectors, currently serving as Fire Marshal for the North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District since August 2022. Previously, John held key positions at the City of South Lake Tahoe as Building Official and Deputy Building Official from July 2016 to August 2022. Prior roles include Chief Building Official and various inspector positions at the City of Galt, CA between January 2008 and July 2016, as well as Quality Assurance Advisor at K. Hovnanian Homes and Risk Assessment Specialist at Quality Built. John’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Applied Science in Fire Administration from Columbia Southern University, an Associate of Applied Science in Building Inspection from Cosumnes River College, and completion of the Building Officials Leadership Academy through California Building Officials. Additionally, John has obtained a CACEO 120 Hour Certification in Code Enforcement Fire Prevention from American River College.
