North Lawndale Employment Network
Khelan Todd is the Chief Impact and Innovation Officer at North Lawndale Employment Network, where they work to serve under- and unemployed residents of the North Lawndale neighborhood and surrounding communities. Prior to this role, they held positions such as Director at Howard Brown Health, Founder of The Black Male Enterprise, and various other leadership roles in education and program coordination. Khelan holds a Doctor of Education in Organization Leadership and Development from Grand Canyon University, a Master's Degree in Student Affairs Administration Higher Education from Ball State University, and a Bachelor's of Arts in Corporate Communication from Eastern Illinois University.

The North Lawndale Employment Network was founded in 1999 to improve the earnings potential of the North Lawndale Community through innovative employment initiatives that lead to economic advancement and an improved quality of life for residents. NLEN continually updates its services to meet the employment needs of clients and the community at large. NLEN’s approach to addressing the extremely high rates of unemployment and underemployment in North Lawndale is to offer employment services and transitional jobs to North Lawndale residents, many of whom are formerly incarcerated persons and others with significant barriers to employment.
