Claude L. Charles

Claude L. Charles has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Their most recent role is as the Creator and Producer of CIOLyfe.com, a blog and video series focusing on the challenges and opportunities of being a CIO in the government space. Prior to this, Claude worked at the City of North Miami for six years, starting as the Assistant Director of Information Technology and eventually becoming the Director of Information Technology. In this role, they oversaw the administration and maintenance of networking devices, security appliances, and servers for the government center, police department, and other entities. Before that, Claude worked as an IT Analyst at the City of Sunny Isles Beach, where they were responsible for managing networking devices, user functions, and providing IT system recommendations. Claude L. also led a project to research and author an IT Strategic Plan for the city. Claude's earlier experience includes working as an IT Support Technician at the City of Miami Gardens Police Department, where they provided end-user support, managed enterprise systems, and facilitated training. Claude L. began their career as a Microsystems Technician and Computer Specialist at Miami-Dade County Public Schools, where they administered over 300 systems and provided support to multiple schools and a regional office. Claude L. Charles completed their BBA in Management Information Systems from Florida International University in the years 1996 to 2001. Claude L. later pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from St. Thomas University during 2005 to 2006. In addition to their degrees, Claude has obtained two certifications. Claude L. became a Certified Government Chief Information Officer from Florida State University in August 2019, and they also obtained the Business Relationship Management Professional certification from the Business Relationship Management Institute (BRM Institute) in April 2018.
