Anna Smith

Anna Smith has a diverse work experience in various finance roles. Anna started their career as a Finance & Accounting Developee at Qatar Petroleum from 2005 to 2007. Anna then had an internship at Lloyds Bank in 2008. Anna joined Shell in 2012, where they held roles such as Senior Financial Accountant, Senior Management Accountant, Financial Accountant-Virtual, and Senior Governance, Risk and Assurance Advisor. From 2015 to 2017, they worked at Maersk Oil as Head of Planning, Reporting, Performance, ERM and Economics, and later as Long Range Planning, ERM & Economics team lead. Anna's most recent position was at North Oil Company Qatar, where they held roles including Head of Business Performance, ERM, Insurances and Economics and Controller, Head of Financial Controls. Anna is currently working as a Finance Manager, equivalent to Chief Finance Officer at the same company.

Anna Smith obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Corporate Governance and Firms Compliance from Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd, starting in 2012 and completing in 2017. Prior to that, they earned a Diploma in Design & Art History from Central Saint Martins, University of The Arts London from 2009 to 2011. Anna also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Banking and Corporate Finance from Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd, which they obtained from 2008 to 2009. Additionally, they have a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration and Management, General, which they completed at Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd in 2007. Anna spent the year 2007 at the University of Ottawa, studying Business Management with a focus on Finance. Prior to that, they attended the College of the North Atlantic from 2004 to 2006, earning a degree in Business Management with a specialization in Accounting. Anna has also obtained various certifications, including being a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level I Candidate from the CFA Institute, an Executive Education certificate in Financial Strategy and Value Creation from the London Business School, and an MBA from Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd.
