Reservoir Engineering And Production Technology Disciplines Lead at North Oil Company Qatar

Halil Turan has extensive work experience in the field of reservoir engineering and production technology. Halil currently works for North Oil Company Qatar as the Reservoir Engineering and Production Technology Disciplines Lead, providing technical assurance for reservoir engineering and production technology work. Prior to this, they worked for TotalEnergies in various roles, including being seconded to NOC as the Reservoir Engineering and Production Technology Disciplines Lead. Halil also served as the Senior Reservoir Geochemistry Project Leader, Energy Transition and Carbon Footprint Reduction Task Force R&D Coordinator, and as a TotalEnergies secondee in Qatargas. Halil has experience working internationally, including serving as the Geosciences & Reservoir Manager in OBO Brasil and in Girassol/Jasmin/Rosa Developments. Halil has also worked as the Geosciences and Reservoir Manager, Head Geosciences & Reservoir for the Egina Project, Chief Reservoir Engineer, Reservoir Manager, and Deputy Geosciences & Reservoir Manager Bloc 3. Additionally, they have worked for PetroChina International Iraq FZE Iraq Branch as the Geosciences and Reservoir Advisor, and for BP as a Reservoir Engineer, as part of the Engineering Development Program, and on various reservoir engineering projects.

Halil Turan began their education in 1994 at the Université de Technologie de Compiègne (UTC), where they pursued a degree in Chemical Engineering. Halil completed their degree program in 1997. Following this, in the same year, they attended Imperial College London and obtained a Meng degree in Chemical Engineering. After a brief break, Turan returned to Imperial College London in 1997 and completed a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Petroleum Engineering in 1998. In 2013, they participated in the TotalEnergies Business Skills Development program (mini-MBA) in association with HEC, which took place in Beijing and Paris at HEC Paris.
