Hussain Ashkanani

Head Of Integrity & Major Risks at North Oil Company Qatar

Hussain Ashkanani's work experience begins in 2003 when they worked as a Piping Engineer at Maersk Oil. Hussain was responsible for reviewing drawings, specifying firefighting procedures, and preparing piping engineering documents.

In 2005, Ashkanani joined the Qatar Olympic Committee as a Contract Engineer. Their duties included managing contracts, consulting with the design team, and negotiating with architects and consulting engineers.

Returning to Maersk Oil in 2006, Ashkanani worked as a Maintenance Engineer, ensuring the integrity of piping and structures, performing machinery maintenance, and organizing teams for machinery security and quality inspections.

Hussain then progressed to roles of increasing responsibility, including Senior Mechanical Engineer and Deputy Head of Anomaly Management & Fabric Maintenance. In these roles, Ashkanani was involved in integrity management, design and layout preparation, spool and grating replacement, and budget and cost control.

In 2013, Ashkanani became the Head of Safety Services for the Integrity and Reliability Department at Maersk Oil. Hussain provided leadership and guidance, managed safety operations, and contributed to the development of annual budgets.

In 2014, Ashkanani became the Head of Safety Services & Utility in the I&R Department, where they contributed to strategy development and oversaw maintenance of offshore safety and utility equipment. Hussain also managed the firm's capital budget and monitored safety operations onsite.

From 2015 to 2017, Ashkanani served as the Integrity Lead at Maersk Oil, where they furthered their responsibilities in integrity management before joining North Oil Company Qatar. At North Oil Company Qatar, Ashkanani initially worked as the HSE Integrity Lead before being promoted to the position of Head of Integrity & Major Risks.
