Tom Gold

Tom Gold has a diverse work experience in various roles related to Agile coaching and project management. Tom is currently working as an Agile Coach at SSE plc since 2022. Prior to this, Tom served as a Non-Executive Director at North Point Distillery starting from September 2020. Tom also worked as a Scrum Master at Plentific from August 2020 to January 2022.

Earlier in their career, Tom held the position of Delivery Manager at Earnd, a fintech start-up, from February 2020 to July 2020. Tom was responsible for transforming the company's team structure and successfully delivering all team quarterly roadmaps within agreed timelines.

Before that, Tom worked as an Agile Coach at Tandem Bank, a fintech challenger bank, from November 2018 to February 2020. In this role, they managed the Scrum Master team and conducted an Agile maturity assessment to identify blockers for wider Agile Transformation.

Tom also has experience as a Senior Scrum Master at Vodafone, where they led a team of Scrum Masters and contributed to the Digital Agile Transformation for Vodafone UK. During their tenure from September 2015 to November 2018, they transitioned the Digital department to product-led teams, resulting in a 10% reduction in cycle time.

Tom Gold completed their education at the University of St Andrews from 2011 to 2015, where they earned a Master of Arts (Honours) degree in Philosophy and Theological Studies. Prior to attending university, they studied at The King's School, Canterbury from 2005 to 2010, focusing on subjects such as Religious Studies, Math, Physics, and Economics at the A-Level. Additionally, Tom Gold obtained several certifications throughout their career, including ICAgile Certified Professional in Coaching Agile Transformations and Enterprise Agile Coaching from ICAgile in November 2022, Kanban Management Professional (KMP 1) from Lean Kanban Inc. in July 2018, Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing from the Digital Marketing Institute in June 2017, Advanced Open Water PADI certification from PADI in July 2011, and Certified Scrum Product Owner and Certified Scrum Master certifications from the Scrum Alliance in September 2017 and August 2017, respectively.
