Laura Meisenhelter

Laura Meisenhelter has extensive experience in the non-profit sector, currently serving as the Executive Director of North Shore Community Action Programs (NSCAP) since 2013, following a prior role as Deputy Director from 2006 to 2012. Meisenhelter also worked as an Organizational Development Consultant for Habitat for Humanity International from 1996 to 2006. Educationally, Meisenhelter holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Salem State University, obtained between 2002 and 2006, and a Bachelor of Arts in German Language and Literature from Rutgers University, completed in 1987.

North Shore Community Action Programs, Inc., is the designated anti-poverty agency for the communities of Salem, Peabody, Beverly and Danvers. In addition, we serve 25 cities and towns on the North Shore. Established in 1965 under the Economic Opportunity Act, NSCAP’s mission is to help low-income people empower themselves as they move towards self-sufficiency and to motivate the larger community to be more responsive to the needs of low-income people.
