Juan A. Contreras has extensive experience in the healthcare industry, holding various leadership roles over the years. Juan A. started their career at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene as a Public Health Advisor in 2007. Juan A. then joined Jamaica Hospital as a Language Assistance Coordinator until 2012. In 2008, they joined Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center, where they served as a Manager in the Language Assistance Department, Director of Patient Relations, and later as a Patient Relations Manager. In 2016, they moved to Interfaith Medical Center as an Assistant Vice President. Currently, Juan is the Director of Patient & Customer Experience at North Shore University Hospital, a position they have held since 2020. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated their expertise in patient relations, customer experience, language assistance services, and regulatory compliance.

Juan A. Contreras attended Stony Brook University from 2001 to 2006, where they obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in Health/Health Care Administration/Management and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Health Services/Allied Health/Health Sciences, General. Juan also holds a certification as a Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Instructor from the Crisis Prevention Institute.
