Brian Schaffer

Brian Schaffer has extensive work experience in the education sector. Brian is currently working as a School Principal at the North Slope Borough School District since 2022. Prior to that, they served as a School Principal at Parker Academy from 2021 to 2022.

Their previous roles include being the Principal of Lamoille Union High School from 2007 to 2021, where their responsibilities included student advocacy, budget development and oversight, employee supervision and evaluation, and policy development. Brian was also the Principal at Delta/Greely School District from 2003 to 2007, where they played a key role in establishing new schools and overseeing compliance with regulations.

Brian Schaffer also has experience at Nenana City School District, where they served as the Statewide Correspondence School Principal and Special Education Director in 2002-2003, and as an Assistant Principal from 2001 to 2002. Brian started their career at Nuiqsut Trapper School as an Assistant Principal from 2000 to 2001, where they developed alternative programs for students with behavior and attendance issues.

Brian Schaffer earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Special Education and Teaching from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania in 1995. Brian then pursued a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General from Lehigh University, which they obtained in 1999. In addition, Brian holds certifications in educational leadership from various institutions, including the New Hampshire Department of Education, Alaska Department of Education, and Vermont Agency of Education.
