Chaya Bhuvaneswaran has a diverse work experience in the field of psychiatry and medicine. In 1999, they started as a medical student at Stanford University Medical Center, where they studied until 2004. Chaya then moved on to Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, where they worked as a Resident in Psychiatry from 2004 to 2008. Following this, they served as an Instructor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania from 2008 to 2010. From 2010 to 2013, Chaya worked as a Physician in the industry.
