Richard Edmondson has a diverse work experience in journalism and communication. Richard started their career in 1991 as a Trainee/Junior reporter at Scarborough Evening News. Richard then worked as a Politics reporter at Northampton Chronicle & Echo before joining Trinity Mirror plc as a News Reporter/Assistant News Editor. In 1999, Richard became an Assistant Editor/News Editor at Northamptonshire Newspapers, where they managed a team of up to 15 reporters and was responsible for generating news content, editing copy, and forward planning. Richard also wrote various travel features, restaurant reviews, and columns. In 2013, Richard became the News and Publishing Manager at the Office of Police and Crime Commissioner at NorthantsPolice. Richard then joined Northamptonshire Police as the Head of News and Communication. In 2018, they were promoted to the role of Head of Corporate Communications. Richard's work experience demonstrates their expertise in journalism, news reporting, communication, and team management.
Richard Edmondson earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Modern Dutch Studies from the University of Hull, specializing in Dutch/Flemish Language and Literature, History, Politics, and South-East Asian studies. Later, they pursued a Master's Degree in International Relations at the University of Reading.
