Michael Braude

Vice President Internal Audit at Northbridge Financial Corporation

Michael Braude has extensive experience in the field of internal audit and financial management. Michael started their career as a Controller/Senior Financial Manager at Grant Thornton in 1999 and later became the Chief Financial Officer (Schools Division) at ADvTECH from 2004 to 2007. From 2007 to 2013, they worked at Xstrata as the Director/Regional Audit Manager. Michael then joined Ontario Power Generation as the Director of Internal Audit, eventually becoming the Vice President Assurance & Chief Audit Executive. In 2015, Braude moved to the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) as the Vice President of Internal Audit and held the position until 2018. Currently, they are serving as the Vice President of Internal Audit at Northbridge Financial Corporation.

Michael Braude has an MBA from Bond University. Michael also holds a B Com (Honours) in Accounting and Auditing from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika. Michael has completed the Workplace Mental Health Leadership Certificate Program from Queen's University. In addition, they have certifications in PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP®) and Learning Cloud Computing: Core Concepts, obtained from LinkedIn in 2020. Michael's education also includes membership in the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario and the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants.
