Fara Ilami, MS, PMP has a diverse work experience spanning from 2004 to 2021. In 2004, they began their career as a Pollution Control Inspector (Coastal Section) for Miami-Dade County. From 2006 to 2011, they worked as a Teacher, Tutor, and Trainer for Kaplan Test Prep. From 2010 to 2011, they served as a Research and Teaching Assistant for Florida State University, and from 2011 to 2012, they were a Marine Science Educator (Sea-to-See program) for the same university. Additionally, they were a Laboratory Manager and Instructor for Florida State University from 2012 to 2013, and an Adjunct Instructor of Oceanography for Tallahassee Community College from 2011 to 2013. From 2013 to 2016, they worked as a Sea Grant Extension Agent for the University of Florida, and from 2016 to 2021, they served as a Coastal Planning Coordinator for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Currently, they are employed as a Regional Resilience Manager for the Northeast Florida Regional Council.
Fara Ilami obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from The University of Texas at Arlington. Fara then went on to earn a Master's Degree in Oceanography from Florida State University between 2009 and 2011. In April 2021, they obtained a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute.
