Dr. Jeffrey Lopes

Dr. Jeffrey Lopes, LP.D, MPA, currently serves as a Police Sergeant for the City of Boston, overseeing police officers in a neighborhood district and promoting community policing. With a career spanning various roles within the Boston Police Department, including officer and detective, Dr. Lopes has a strong focus on crime-solving and community safety. In addition to law enforcement, Dr. Lopes is a lecturer in Sociology, Criminology, and Criminal Justice at Emmanuel College and serves as President of the Massachusetts Association of Minority Law Enforcement Officers, where efforts are directed toward policy development and promoting social justice. Dr. Lopes also acts as a consultant and social justice trainer for Northeastern University, specializing in issues of race, bias, and gender discrimination. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Law & Policy from Northeastern University, an MPA from Suffolk University, and a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Public Relations from Suffolk University.
