Ben Wordsworth Aciro

Ben Wordsworth ACIRO is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in railway operations and engineering. Currently serving as the Director of the Train Driver Foundation since March 2021, Ben leads national initiatives to elevate awareness and education on the recruitment, safety, and operational professionalism of train drivers in the UK. Prior to this role, Ben has demonstrated leadership as a Driver Team Manager at Northern since November 2013, where responsibilities include managing teams, coaching junior managers, and developing driver training materials. Ben's earlier experience includes a tenure with the Royal Air Force as a Senior Mechanical Technician, where leadership of engineering teams ensured the maintenance and safety of military aircraft. Additionally, Ben possesses an NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Maintenance from the Defence College of Engineering.
