Sara Kettlewell

Sara Kettlewell is an experienced railway professional with over 19 years in planning passenger rail services. Currently, Sara serves as the Head of the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) at Northern, coordinating responses to the TRU programme while focusing on maintaining services during major works. In addition, Sara is the Director and Engagement Lead at York Rail Solutions Ltd, where expertise spans areas including train planning, resource management, and project management. Past roles include Head of Operational Planning at London North Eastern Railway and various positions at Virgin Trains East Coast and National Express - East Coast. Sara holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Railway Operations Management from Glasgow Caledonian University.
