Greta Mart

Greta Mart has a diverse work experience in the field of journalism. Greta is currently the News Director at Northern California Public Media, where they are responsible for building a new public radio newsroom and managing a team of reporters. Prior to this, they held the position of News Director at KCBX for five years. Greta also worked as an Interim News Director and Reporter at KUCB. Greta has experience in production as a Production Assistant at Reveal from The Center for Investigative Reporting. Greta further developed their skills as a journalist during their time as a Master's candidate at the University of California Graduate School of Journalism, reporting internationally and completing a work/study at the Center for Investigative Reporting. Greta began their career as a Reporter at KCAW and Martinez News-Gazette, and they also worked as a Reporter at Robinson Newspapers.

Greta Mart obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from UMass Boston between the years 1992 and 1995. Following this, they pursued higher education at the University of California, Berkeley, where they completed their Master's degree in Journalism from 2013 to 2015.

Northern California Public Media operates KRCB PBS, a member of the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), KPJK an independent public media station, and KRCB FM 104.9, a member station of National Public Radio. Programming on the stations includes well-known PBS shows such as Nova, Masterpiece Theatre, NewsHour and Frontline; and radio programs such as Morning Edition, All Things Considered and This American Life. TV Digital channels, other than our primary HD broadcast signal on 22.1, include 22.2 KRCB-Create and 22.3 KRCB-NHK World Japan. On KPJK, digital channels include the primary broadcast signal 60.1, France 24 60.2, NHK World Japan 60.3, DW News 60.4, and FNX First Nations Experience 60.5. Northern California Public Media has a commitment to locally and independently produced programming.
