Lane Glenn currently serves as President of Northern Essex Community College since October 2006, following a tenure as Vice President of Academic Affairs at the same institution. Previously, Lane held the position of Chair of the Board of Directors at Lawrence Partnership from March 2015 to July 2018, focusing on resource development and transformative initiatives. From September 2001 to October 2006, Lane was Dean of Academic and Student Services at Oakland Community College. Lane's academic background includes a PhD in Theatre from Michigan State University, a Master's degree in Speech Communication and Rhetoric from Oklahoma State University, a BA in English from Northeastern State University, and coursework at Rose State College.

Northern Essex Community College (NECC) in Haverhill, Massachusettseducates and trains residents of all ages and backgrounds living in theMerrimack Valley.Academics at NECC consist of more than 90 degree and certificateprograms. Subject areas include liberal and performing arts, sciences,education, criminal justice, deaf studies, paralegalstudies, businessand health-related fields among others.NECC’s students may earn a career-based degree intended to prepare themfor the workforce or a degree in preparation for a transfer to afour-year university.A combination of high school aged, young adult and mature adult studentsattend NECC. Since students’ needs and educational backgrounds differthere are classes to meet a range of interests.
