Justine Ellis currently serves as the Research Operations Manager at Northern Health, a position held since July 2023. Prior to this role, Justine was with VCCC Alliance, where from March 2020 to July 2023, Justine held positions as Research Program Director and Associate Head of Research Development. Justine's experience also includes serving as Program Manager at The Royal Children's Hospital from September 2018 to March 2020, and as Biobank Leader and Senior Research Fellow at Murdoch Childrens Research Institute from 2007 to September 2018, where Justine led initiatives to enhance biobanking practices and conducted research on complex diseases, specifically juvenile arthritis. Justine began the academic journey as a Research Officer at the University of Melbourne from 2000 to 2006, following the attainment of a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Human Genetics from the University of Melbourne between 1997 and 2000.

Northern Health is the key provider of public health care in Melbourne's northern region. Established in July 2000, Northern Health provides quality health care services to the expanding communities in Melbourne's northern suburbs. In one of Melbourne's busiest growth corridors, Northern Health offers the community health care services where they are needed - close to where people live. Northern Health is made up of four campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre and Craigieburn Centre. Our campuses work together to provide a unique mix of services including medical, surgical, emergency, intensive and coronary care, paediatrics, women's and maternal health, mental health, aged care, palliative care, and rehabilitation programs. These services are provided through inpatient, ambulatory and community-based programs. Northern Health's programs and services are split into two different streams - acute and sub-acute. This structure is designed to assist services to be integrated across our campuses and ensure that patients have access to the best healthcare within the most efficient time frame.
