Dr Mandy Dixon has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple companies and roles. Dr Mandy is currently the Head of Corporate Engagement at Northern Health Science Alliance Ltd, a position they have held since November 2019. Prior to this, they worked at Lancaster University from 2012 to 2019, holding various roles such as Assistant Director of Lancaster Health Innovation Campus, Senior Manager of the Health Engagement and Innovation Team, Senior Manager for Business Engagement in Health & Medicine, and Lancaster Health Hub Manager. From 2008 to 2012, they served as the Research Grants Coordinator at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. In the same year, they also worked as a Research Associate in Marketing at Lancaster University Management School. Before that, they were an Associate Lecturer at The Open University from 2007 to 2008. In the early years of their career, they worked at Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, where they held positions including Trust Research and Development Manager and Research and Clinical Audit Officer. Prior to this, they worked as a Social Anthropologist and Researcher at the South African Medical Research Council from 1992 to 1994.
Dr Mandy Dixon completed their education with a Bachelor of Social Science (Honours) degree in Social Anthropology from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. Dr Mandy pursued further studies and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Health and Community Care from Birmingham.

The Northern Health Science Alliance Ltd (NHSA) is a partnership established by the leading Universities and NHS Hospital Trusts in the North of England to improve the health and wealth of the region by creating an internationally recognized life science and healthcare system. The NHSA links 10 universities and 10 NHS Teaching Trusts with the four northern Academic Health Science Networks (AHSNs). Together the Alliance cover a patient population of 16 million people. The NHSA acts as a single portal bringing together research, health science innovation and commercialisation to provide benefits for researchers, universities, hospitals, patients as well as commercial partners.
