Deyci Ramirez

Director Of The Area Health Education Center at Northern Illinois University

Deyci Ramirez, M.S.Ed, serves as the Director of the Area Health Education Center and teaches various courses including University 101-First Year College Experience at Northern Illinois University since July 2008. Responsibilities as a CHANCE Counselor involve reviewing over 400 applicants annually while utilizing bilingual skills in recruitment efforts for Latino students from over 60 Chicago Public Schools. In addition to roles at Northern Illinois University, Deyci is an advisor for Tau Phi Sigma Multicultural Fraternity and previously served as an advisor for Delta Psi Alpha Multicultural Co-Ed Fraternity and as the National Chair of Expansion and Induction for Alpha Sigma Omega Latina Sorority, Inc. Currently, Deyci is also the President of the Board of Education for DeKalb CUSD428. Educational achievements include a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Language and Literature and Sociology, a Master of Science in Adult and Higher Education, and ongoing doctoral studies in Educational Administration and Foundations focused on Leadership, Equity, and Inquiry.
