Marc Thorson

Marc Thorson is an experienced technology professional currently serving as the Executive Director of Regional Technology Services and as an Adjunct Instructor for the PSPA-612 Information Technology and Management course within the Master of Public Administration program at Northern Illinois University, a position held since August 2017. Previously, Marc held the role of Director of Information Technology for the City of DeKalb, Illinois, from December 2016 to March 2019 and served as Assistant Director of Information Technology for the Village of Schaumburg from June 2014 to December 2016. Marc’s career in technology began at the Village of Glendale Heights, where roles included Assistant Information Systems Administrator and Information Systems Engineer from June 2000 to June 2014. Marc obtained an MBA in Management Information Systems and Marketing from Northern Illinois University between 2008 and 2011, a Bachelor of Science in Management from National Louis University from 2006 to 2008, and a Management Certificate from the College of DuPage from 2004 to 2006.
