Michelle Pickett

Michelle Pickett, Ed.D., serves as an EAB Rising Higher Education Leader Fellow since July 2025 and a member of the DeKalb County Board since January 2022. With a long-standing career at Northern Illinois University, Michelle has held various positions including Director of the Academic Advising Center, where oversight includes support for undecided students and those pursuing pre-health studies. Additionally, Michelle has contributed as an Adjunct Instructor for multiple courses related to career planning and leadership in higher education. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Administration, a Certificate of Graduate Study in Advanced Qualitative Methods in Education, a Master of Science in Education, and a Bachelor of Science in Family and Child Studies, all from Northern Illinois University. Previous experience includes roles in admissions and residential training at Opportunity House.
