Norma Jazwinski

Commercial Lender at Northern Initiatives

Norma Jazwinski has been working in the commercial lending industry for Northern Initiatives since January of 2022. Prior to that, they were the Director of the Ogemaw County Economic Development Corporation from March of 2020 to January of 2022. Before that, they were the Director of Annual Giving at Northwood University from June of 2019 to January of 2020.

Before their work in higher education, Norma worked as a Community Development Fellow for the Community Economic Development Association of Michigan (CEDAM) from November of 2018 to June of 2019. In this role, they worked with the city of West Branch as a resource for Project Rising Tide.

From December of 2014 to August of 2018, Norma worked as the Charitable Giving Officer for Munson Healthcare Foundations. In this role, they were responsible for solicitation and cultivation of various donor programs, including mid-level giving, employee campaigns, social media campaigns, major donors, and hospice programs. Norma also developed and managed the #GivingTuesday campaign for 2016 and 2017. Additionally, they wrote compelling proposals, case statements, and articles to assist in fundraising efforts; organized private tours, in-home gatherings, and stewardship activities; created and maintained donor reports in Raiser’s Edge database; solicited businesses, corporations, and community leaders for annual gifts; created funding opportunities and sought support to successfully fund strategic needs of the hospital; and assisted with hospital acquisition, transition, and integration from Mercy to Munson Healthcare.

Norma’s experience in both the public and private sector make their an asset to Northern Initiatives, where they currently use their skillset to help grow small businesses in Michigan through commercial lending.

Norma Jazwinski has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Central Michigan University. Norma is certified in Fundamentals of Raiser's Edge from Blackbaud, Principles & Techniques of Fundraising from IUPUI The Fund Raising School, and Planned Giving from IUPUI The Fundraising School.

Norma Jazwinski reports to Chuck Hurst, VP, Commercial Lending. They work with Michelle Saatio - Commercial Lending Assistant, Lucy McCraven - Commercial Lender, and Kellie Hoffman - Commercial Lender.
