Hector Balderas serves as the President of Northern New Mexico College, an institution recognized for its commitment to cultural sustainability and community development. Previously, Hector Balderas held the position of Attorney General of New Mexico from January 2015 to December 2022, acting as the state's chief legal officer and advocate for the public interest. Prior to this role, Hector Balderas was the State Auditor, becoming the youngest statewide Hispanic elected official in the nation at age 33, where efforts focused on enhancing government transparency and accountability. Earlier experience includes serving as a State Representative and as a Special Prosecutor, along with a background in private legal practice and as an Assistant District Attorney. Educational qualifications include a JD from The University of New Mexico School of Law and a BA in Political Science from New Mexico Highlands University.
