Mark Hartman

Mark Hartman completed a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Radiation Therapy in Melbourne, Australia in 1989. Since arriving in Sudbury in 1992, he worked as a radiation therapist at the Northeastern Ontario Regional Cancer Centre before entering management positions in the Radiation Treatment Program and as Director of the $44M Cancer Centre capital expansion project.

In 2004, Mark became the Administrative Director of the Regional Cancer Program of the former Sudbury Regional Hospital. He completed a Masters in Business Administration through Athabasca University in 2009 and between 2010 and 2018 provided leadership as the Vice President of Cancer and Clinical Support Programs at Health Science North as well as the Regional Vice President of Cancer Care Ontario for the Northeast. During this time Mark led the development of two Regional Cancer Plans for the Northeast along with the development of the first Regional Aboriginal Cancer Plan for the region. In 2018 Mark was appointed to the role of Senior Vice President, Patient Experience and Digital Transformation at Health Sciences North. This portfolio includes leadership of 2,298 FTE employees with a budget of $382 million and is comprised of all clinical programs, quality and patient safety and information technology. Mark has executive leadership for the HSN Strategic Plan 2019-2024 goal to become digitally enabled through implementation of a regional electronic medical record and secure patient portal.
