Sean Parsons, Ph.D., currently serves as the Manager of Research Services at NOSM University | Université EMNO since August 2022. Previously, Sean held the position of Research Advisor at Laurentian University from September 2015 to August 2022, where responsibilities included oversight of the university's Strategic Plan and participation in the Strategic Research Plan writing and implementation committees. Sean's earlier experience includes serving as President of the Brain Injury Association Sudbury and District, securing significant funding as a Grants Development Officer at the Advanced Medical Research Institute of Canada, and conducting post-doctoral research at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute and the University of Calgary. Sean holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Queen's University and has undertaken various educational pursuits, including certifications in French, Lean Healthcare, and Project Management.

The Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) is a joint initiative of Lakehead University in Thunder Bay and Laurentian University in Sudbury. NOSM offers a world class four-year MD program. Its unique curriculum has multiple teaching and research sites distributed across Northern Ontario, including large and small communities.
