Darin Manuel

Manager, Public Safety at Northern Regional Hospital

Darin Manuel has been the Manager of Public Safety at Northern Hospital of Surry County since 2009, overseeing armed security operations, maintaining safety records, and coordinating inspections of security systems. Prior to this role, Darin served as Lead Security Officer in the same facility. Darin's extensive experience includes serving as a Deputy Sheriff with the Surry County Sheriff's Office from 1992 to 2008, where responsibilities encompassed community policing, patrol, and investigations, including the establishment of the county's first school resource officer program. Earlier in the career, Darin worked as a 911 Dispatcher for Surry County E-911 Communications from 1989 to 1992. Educational background includes time at Surry Community College, US Army Training Center Fort Benning Georgia, and East Surry High School.
