Toby Howells

Toby Howells, MEng (ACSM), is a Graduate Mining Engineer at Northern Star Resources Limited, specializing in underground technical services, including drill and blast, ventilation, and project management. Prior experience includes an internship at Global Mine Design Ltd, where Toby contributed to a project assessing the robustness of an optimized mine plan against unexpected geotechnical events using Deswik mine planning software. Toby also completed a mining engineering vacation placement at British Gypsum, focusing on NOx emissions from diesel vehicles in underground operations. Academic credentials include a Master’s degree in Mining Engineering from the University of Exeter, complemented by a background in leadership and coaching roles during earlier education.
