Sam Burke has a wide range of work experience spanning various roles and organizations. Sam started their career as a Paralegal at Davis Norman Barristers and Solicitors in 2005. Sam then worked at the Northern Territory Police as an Acting Manager in the Information Access Section and later as a Senior Information and Privacy Policy Officer. In 2009, Sam joined Clayton Utz as a Litigation Lawyer.
In 2011, Sam transitioned to the public sector and became a Public Prosecutor for the Northern Territory Government. Sam then worked as a Ministerial Advisor before being appointed as the Chief of Staff. In 2016, they became the General Manager of the Darwin Waterfront Corporation and also took on the role of Project Administrator for Darwin Cove Convention Centre Pty Ltd. In 2018, Sam became the Executive Director of Strategic Infrastructure and Projects, and in 2019, they were promoted to the position of Chief Executive Officer of the AustralAsia Railway Corporation.
Sam's most recent position is Deputy Chief Executive Officer at the Darwin Waterfront Corporation within the Northern Territory Government. Furthermore, they are also a Board Member at Place Leaders Asia Pacific. Overall, Sam Burke has demonstrated a diverse and extensive work history in various leadership and legal roles.
Sam Burke attended Charles Darwin University from 2005 to 2008, where they obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree in the field of Law. In 2008, they pursued further education at The Australian National University and completed a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice in Law in 2009.
