NOVA Parks
AJ Barnard is an experienced park naturalist and camp director currently employed at NOVA Parks since February 2018, responsible for planning and executing various educational programs and managing resident animal care. Prior experience includes serving as an interpretive naturalist and program coordinator at Fairfax County Park Authority, where supervision of volunteers and development of interpretive programs took place. AJ has also gained experience in wildlife conservation through roles at Virginia Tech, including conducting research on the endangered Roanoke Logperch and surveying Henslow’s Sparrows in collaboration with the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries. AJ holds a Bachelor's degree in Wildlife Sciences from Virginia Tech, earned in 2014.
