Laura Schmitz

Laura Schmitz has a diverse range of work experience. Laura is currently serving as a Project Director at Northern Commerce, a position they have held since April 2022. Prior to this role, they worked at Northern Commerce as a Marketing Project Manager and Team Lead from June 2021 to April 2022, and as a Marketing Account Manager from March 2019 to June 2021.

Before joining Northern Commerce, Laura worked as an Account Executive for the AIR MILES Reward Program at LoyaltyOne from June 2016 to March 2019. Laura also served as an Associate Account Executive at GTB (formerly Team Detroit and Blue Hive) from September 2015 to June 2016.

In addition, Laura has experience in project coordination and communications. Laura worked as a Project Coordinator on a contract basis at Blast Radius from May 2015 to September 2015, and as a Communications Intern at Northbridge Financial Corporation from March 2015 to May 2015.

Laura's earlier work experiences include serving as the Communications Director at the Environment Student Society at the University of Waterloo from January 2014 to April 2014. Laura also worked as an External Director at Sustainable Campus Initiative from September 2013 to 2014, where they collaborated on sustainability projects and served as the secretary for the Student Sustainability Advisory Committee.

Prior to that, Laura gained experience as a Property Maintenance Coordinator at Pathways Skill Development & Placement Centre from May 2013 to August 2013. Laura also worked as a Sub-Supervisor at the Ministry of Natural Resources from June 2012 to August 2012, where they supervised and led work trips for teenage girls in northern Ontario. Additionally, they served as an Assistant Sub-Supervisor at the Ministry of Natural Resources from June 2010 to August 2011.

Laura Schmitz completed their Bachelor of Environment Studies in Environment and Resource Studies from the University of Waterloo from 2010 to 2014. Laura then pursued Corporate Communications and Public Relations studies at Centennial College from 2014 to 2015. Additionally, they took courses at the University of Leeds in the School of Earth and Environment in 2013. Laura also has certifications in Beginner Google Analytics from Google and Hootsuite from Hootsuite University, although the exact dates of obtaining these certifications are unknown.
