Thomas Vardell

Co-Founder & Partner at Northgate Capital

Mr. Vardell serves as a co-founder and Partner on the investment team and his responsibilities include advising on venture capital relationships as well as providing insight on portfolio investments, both direct and fund level.

Prior to the formation of Northgate, he was an independent investor in top-tier venture funds and an angel investor in a number of silicon-valley start-ups. Prior to starting Northgate, Mr. Vardell played fullback eight years in the National Football League.

Tommy earned his B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University. At Stanford, he was an Academic All-American and was honored as the top male scholar-athlete in the nation (GTE Academic All-American of the Year). He was a 2009 inductee into the Stanford Athletics Hall of Fame, and he currently serves as a panelist for the Harris Interactive College Football Poll, which ranks the nation's top-25 college football teams for the Bowl Championship Series (BCS).
