EVP, Efficient Natural Gas & Utilities at Northland Power Inc

Calvin MacCormack is Executive Vice President of Thermal & Utility, Calvin is responsible for overseeing Northland’s portfolio of natural gas facilities and its regulated utility in Colombia, Empresa de Energía de Boyacá S.A E.S.P (EBSA).

Calvin has over 25 years of experience in the energy industry. He started his career as a power engineer, operating and managing thermal power plants. In 2011, following the successful launch of Northland’s Thorold Cogeneration station, where he was Chief Engineer, he transitioned into the field of renewable energy.

As Northland’s General Manager of Solar Operations, Calvin was able to shape the important build-out of the company’s portfolio of 13 solar projects in Ontario. Since that time, Calvin has taken on increasingly senior roles within Northland, gaining exposure to a wide variety of technologies and leading operational and business initiatives that have positively influenced every corner of the company. Most recently, as VP of Operations, stationed in Madrid, he led the establishment of Northland’s business operations in Spain, which has quickly become a key European asset management hub for the company.
