ohn is the founder of Columbia Hospitality which began in 1995 upon winning a contract to manage the newly developed Bell Harbor International Conference Center for the Port of Seattle. Columbia Hospitality’s management portfolio has since grown to include hotels, resorts, residential communities, golf courses in 9 states and 43 communities. Over the course of his career, he has founded five successful, private hospitality-related businesses. He was also a founding general partner of Seattle Hotel Group, the investment group that developed the Four Seasons Hotel and Residences Seattle and is a partner of Cruise Terminals of America (CTA) operator of Seattle’s two cruise terminals. John serves on a variety of boards including 5th Ave Theatre (co-chair – Governance Committee), Virginia Mason Franciscan Health (Chair of the Foundation Board), Smoke Tree Ranch, and Anthony’s Restaurants. John is a past chair of YPO Gold Northwest and the Woodland Park Zoo, and the Northern Trust Advisory Board.
