Don Miller

Don Miller has a diverse work experience spanning various fields. Don is currently working as a Sales Manager at Northpointe Bank since January 2022. Previously, they worked as a Personal Mortgage Adviser at Nations Lending from November 2017 to February 2022. Don is also the Founder and Co-Moderator of #EdChatRI, a state-wide educational discussion group on Twitter, since April 2012. Additionally, they have served as a Novice Principal Induction Coach at the Center for Leadership and Educational Equity from August 2017 to September 2018 and as a Consultant at the New England Institute of Technology from October 2016 to October 2017. Don Miller was appointed to the Ocean State World Language Learning Commission by the RI Senate in January 2016, where they studied the impact of the state school funding formula on Language Learners. Don also served as the Vice President of Education Innovation at GoEnnounce, an e-portfolio platform, from July 2016 to October 2016. Don Miller further contributed as a Steering Committee Member at EduvateRI - RI's Education Innovation Cluster from April 2015 to June 2016. Prior to that, they held the position of Principal at Shea High School from June 2012 to June 2016, where they led the transformation of a chronically low-performing urban high school. Recognized for their achievements, Don Miller was a finalist for the Rhode Island Secondary Schools Principal of the Year 2016 awarded by the Rhode Island Association of School Principals.

Don Miller earned a Bachelor's Degree in History from LeMoyne College in 1995. Don then went on to obtain a Master's Degree in Education from the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh from 1996 to 1998. In 1999, they pursued another Master's Degree, this time in PE/Exercise Science, from the University of Rhode Island, which they completed in 2001. Don achieved a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, with a focus on General Education, from Providence College in 2002. In 2013, they attended Providence College again, this time to obtain a Superintendent Certification, which they finished in 2014. Don has additional certifications, including an RI Principal Certification K - 12 obtained in May 2002 and an RI Superintendent Certification from RIDE.
