Matthew Garcia has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Matthew began their career in 2005 at Target, where they worked as a Planogram/Flow/Backroom Team Member until 2009. In 2007, they joined the City of Wyoming Fire Department as a firefighter and served until 2013. Concurrently, from 2011 to 2013, Matthew worked as an Information Systems Help Desk Analyst at Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services. In 2011, they also interned at the Grand Rapids Fire Department. In 2013, Matthew joined Plainwell Community Schools as a Workstation/Network Analyst for a short period. Subsequently, they joined Northpointe Bank in 2013, where they held various roles including Help Desk Technician, Systems Administrator, and Senior Systems Administrator. Additionally, Matthew served as a firefighter at the Jamestown Township Fire Department from 2014 to 2020.

Matthew Garcia completed their Associates in Applied Sciences degree in Computer Network Systems from ITT Technical Institute-Wyoming in 2011. Matthew then went on to pursue a Bachelors of Science degree in Information Systems Security and Cybersecurity from the same institute, which they completed in 2013. In addition to their degrees, Matthew also obtained the Security+ ce certification from CompTIA in March 2012.
