Helen Fan

Helen Fan is an accomplished optical engineer with extensive experience in the aerospace and technology sectors. Currently serving as a Staff Optical Engineer at Northrop Grumman since March 2025, Helen previously held roles as a Surveillance Systems Engineer at Advanced Technology Systems Company and a Senior Principal System Engineer at Northrop Grumman. Prior to that, Helen worked as a Senior System Engineer at Raytheon and contributed to research at the College of Optical Sciences at the University of Arizona, where Helen developed a prototype computed tomography system and a multimodality imaging system. Helen's early experience includes internships and research positions at Hutchinson Technology Inc., the University of Arizona, and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. Helen holds a Ph.D. in Optical Sciences and a Bachelor's degree in Optical Engineering and Science, both from the University of Arizona.
