Northside Achievement Zone (NAZ)
Kalin LeBrun is currently serving as the Director of Marketing and Communications at Northside Achievement Zone (NAZ) since April 2021. From June 2019 to April 2021, Kalin worked as a Freelance Social Strategist and Communications Manager. Prior to that, from February 2020 to January 2021, Kalin held the position of Events and Partnership Manager at The Tile Shop. From December 2018 to May 2019, Kalin worked as a Social Strategist at broadhead. Kalin also has experience in roles such as Events and Partnership Specialist at Room & Board from November 2012 to December 2018, PR & Marketing Specialist at Adsoka, Inc. from September 2011 to October 2012, Public Relations and Fundraising Specialist at ACA International from August 2009 to July 2010, Communications Intern at Minnesota AIDS Project from May 2009 to August 2009, Advertising and Promotions Intern at The Onion from May 2008 to July 2009, and Creative Team Intern: Junior Copywriter and Researcher at Arketype, Inc. from September 2008 to May 2009.
Kalin LeBrun earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a focus on Creative Writing from St. Norbert College. This educational journey took place from 2004 to 2008.
Northside Achievement Zone (NAZ)
The Northside Achievement Zone (NAZ) exists to permanently close the achievement gap and end generational poverty in North Minneapolis. Together with our partner organizations, we are walking side by side with low-income families as they put their children on a path to college. NAZ has a game-changing approach that is closing the achievement gap. NAZ’s wraparound framework effectively supports low-income children of color so that they will graduate from high school prepared for college. Our approach is working. NAZ-enrolled families are making remarkable strides. Our children are not only showing improved academic outcomes at key kindergarten and third grade benchmarks, but families are stabilizing their housing, employment, and health. These early successes are already driving a culture change in North Minneapolis. Return on investment. A study by Wilder Research demonstrates that each dollar invested in NAZ provides more than a $6 societal return.
