Dr. Betsuaye W. Abia

Dr. Betsuaye W. Abia's work experience includes serving as a Program Director at the Northside Center for Child Development since 2021. Prior to this role, they worked at SCO Family of Services from 2010 to 2020, starting as a Program Manager and later becoming a Senior Case Manager. At SCO Family of Services, Dr. Abia provided counseling and support to children and their families, assessed safety and risks, and advocated for community resources. Dr. Betsuaye W. also worked as a Social Intern/Case Manager at Harlem Dowling Westside from 2009 to 2010, where they taught independent living skills to foster youth and updated policy procedures. Additionally, they served as a Social Work Intern at Collegiate Institute for Math And Science in 2008, providing counseling services to struggling students.

Dr. Betsuaye W. Abia has a diverse education history, starting with a Master of Sciences (M.Sc.) degree in United Nations Studies/International Relations & Diplomacy from Long Island University, which they obtained from 2002 to 2004. Returning to academic pursuits in 2014, Dr. Abia studied at Liberty University and obtained an Education Specialist (Ed.S) degree in Curriculum and Instruction from 2014 to 2018. Continuing their pursuit of higher education, they completed their Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Liberty University from 2014 to 2021.
